As the Recovery Plan plays a critical role on the development trajectory of Greece for the next 5 years, it is evident that regions strongly need to prioritize their plans and actions according to competitiveness targets and in relevance to a nationally coherent strategic plan attractive to investors.
We mention below some indicative plans that the Regions can opt to target:
- Enhance their particular regional competitiveness according to investors’ criteria, as they are referred e.g. at the 2020 Kearney FDI Confidence Index. (presentation from our previous Discussion for Action)
- Prepare a standardized guide with processes facilitating eventual investors to get established in their region.
- Create an Excellence Centre to connect academia with the wider business environment.
- Create a specific network for bridging swiftly the demand and supply side of the labor market with real time information.
- Create and nurture a mutual understanding mechanism between central and local government so that criteria for each region according to RCI are better communicated, explained and utilized.
- Create a network among various stakeholders to freely circulate relevant information, knowledge, expertise and success stories in order to accelerate and escalate best practices.
