All these significant, and not at all self-evident, achievements of the Greek economy serve
as an invaluable legacy for the future and confirm the soundness of the economic policy
implemented, which is based on a modern, reformative and growth-friendly mix of measures
and interventions.
In this context, over the course of the last three years, the Ministry of Finance has proceeded
with a number of significant reforms and interventions, including:
We reduced over 50 tax rates and social security contributions.
We introduced incentives to attract investments and human capital.
We have supported businesses through successive crises, reinforcing their liquidity.
We are implementing reforms that modernise the regulatory framework for business, facil-
itate and encourage healthy entrepreneurship, attract investment interest, create new jobs,
and accelerate growth.
We are fully utilising Recovery and Resilience Fund resources, promptly and optimally, in or-
der to accelerate the country’s economic and social reform, supporting its green and digital
transition, boosting employment, skills and social cohesion, and promoting private invest-
ments, research and innovation together with the business expansion and extroversion.
All the above are actions that not only bear fruit in the short term but deliver mid- and
long-term benefits too, contributing towards developing strong, sustainable, smart, and
inclusive growth. Of course, at the international level, circumstances remain exceptionally
critical and challenges have not ceased to be immense. As a Government, we are determined
to overcome these challenges too, turning them into a springboard for further progress. We
are determined to forge ahead on the path of prudence, insight and reforms, investing in
the country’s competitive advantages and implementing the necessary interventions to its
microeconomic fundamentals, aspiring to a turn towards sustainable economic growth and
prosperity. Onwards to a more competitive and stronger Greece.
