ithout a doubt, 2022 has been a watershed year, with the war in Ukraine
and the ensuing energy crisis bringing violent upheaval to a world still try-
ing to heal from the impact of the global pandemic. In this unprecedented
Wcontext, Greece has demonstrated incredible resilience and determination
to preserve its growth momentum, steadfastly adhering to fiscal stability while at the same
time working to bolster its prospects for economic growth and social progress.
In this new landscape, strengthening economic competitiveness is key to developing solu-
tions and policies, as it is obvious that states, businesses and investors alike will, increasingly,
seek out the optimal way to achieve economic growth, overcome potential challenges and
safeguard social cohesion. It is now clear that whether or not an economy can move ahead
depends entirely on the key metrics that define its competitiveness and on a unified commit-
