                                            The development of skills (digital as well as soft skills such as communication, flexibility
                                            and  adaptability,  teamwork,  creativity,  emotional  intelligence,  etc.)  as  well  as  quality
                                            improvements in  provided vocational  training and  lifelong learning  that  closely
                                            corresponds to market demands are the biggest challenges for the country in the Society
                   SOCIETY                  and Talent pillar. Activity in this direction will allow the country to better utilise a potentially
                  & TALENT
                                            strong advantage it possesses: a reserve of high-quality human resources, particularly in
                                            the natural and applied sciences.







                                            Greece has launched projects and collaborations that aim to address environmental
                                            sustainability and the development of transport and telecommunications infrastructures.
                                            Developing, expanding, modernising and connecting transport infrastructures will bring
                                            fundamental advantages, promoting commerce and achieving regional integration. At
                RESOURCES &                 the same time, moves to develop telecommunication infrastructure are important and
               INFRASTRUCTURE
                                            will constitute the basis for the country’s digital transformation, both on the social and
                                            on the corporate level.






                                            Due to the extraordinary circumstances of the pandemic, this year there were no available
                                            data for most indices of the Business Environment pillar. Recent years have brought
                                            positive developments and reforms to stabilise the financial system, attract investment,
                                            and promote innovative companies. Despite the measures, the pandemic is expected
                  BUSINESS                  to have a direct and significant impact on the country's entrepreneurial environment,
                ENVIRONMENT
                                            which is fragmented, counting numerous very small businesses. To boost the country's
                                            competitiveness, it is deemed necessary to focus more on business financing beyond
                                            traditional banking products; to further promote flexibility of the labour market; and to
                                            bolster and facilitate the competitive environment by reducing non-wage labour burden
                                            and by providing fairer tax treatment.
