          COMPETITIVENESS




          The Council on Competitiveness of Greece, taking into account
          the results and analysis of all the indices examined, in the context
          of  the  five  pillars  that  comprise  the  country’s  competitiveness
          framework, has developed a dynamic approach that assesses

          the country’s competitiveness, puts forth pertinent suggestions
          for improvement, and makes it possible to track its performance
          over the long-term and benchmark it with other countries. The
          objective is not only to create a record of the current state of
          affairs but also to more widely evaluate the immediate prospects
          of the country’s competitiveness, in the context of ongoing
          current government initiatives as well as developments and

          trends shaping the international competitiveness landscape. The
          composite index has been fashioned as a Compass, based on five
          pillars that allow us to track the country’s overall competitiveness:
